The field hockey team earned its first win of the year. The Hillies netted two first half goals and held on for the 2-1 victory. They will host Methuen on Monday and Lawrence on Wednesday.
The girls’ volleyball team is off to a great start, reeling off three straight wins. The Hillies grabbed two big MVC wins last week, defeating Methuen and Chelmsford. They host Central Catholic on Monday and Lowell on Wednesday.
The girls’ soccer team picked up back-to-back wins over Lawrence and Methuen before falling to Central Catholic. They face Andover and North Andover this week. The boy’s team picked up its first win of the year, downing Chelmsford 5-3. They will look for back-to-back wins when they host Lawrence on Tuesday.
The girls’ swim team is off to a perfect 2-0 start with wins over Billerica and Dracut. The Hillies host their first home meet of the season on Friday afternoon against Andover.
The golf team is off to a 3-1 start, including a 17-3 win over Georgetown last week. The Hillies will travel to Chelmsford for a match on Thursday afternoon.
The cross country teams had successful showings at the first two weekend meets of the year: the Bob MacDougall Invitational at Tewksbury High School and the Clipper Relays in Newburyport. The teams will host Chelmsford at Winnekenni Park on Wednesday.
The football team dropped the home opener again defending super bowl champion St. John’s Prep. The team will look to get in the win column this Saturday afternoon when it hosts Chelmsford. Kick-off is slated for 3:00 PM. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students.
