Under the direction of new co-head coaches Vin and Tori Pettis, the girls’ volleyball program is off to a great start. The Hillies are 3-0, including conference wins over Methuen and Chelmsford. The Hillies host Central Catholic on Monday evening and will travel to Lowell on Wednesday.
The football team bounced back with a 29-7 victory over Chelmsford on the road Friday night. The Hillies scored all 29 points in the first half en route to their first win of the year. They will play the home opener this Friday night when they host Westford at 7:00 PM.
The girls’ swim and dive team is also off to a strong start, having won its first two meets last week. The Hillies defeated Billerica 97-68 then took down Dracut 97-77. They host Notre Dame on Tuesday before traveling for a big meet against Andover on Friday.
The boys’ soccer team pulled out a thrilling 4-3 win over Andover last Tuesday. It was then edged by Tewksbury 1-0 to drop to 2-3 on the year. The Hillies will be at Lawerence on Tuesday then will host Dracut on Thursday night at Trinity Stadium. With a 2-0 win at Methuen on Tuesday, the girls’ soccer team improved to 2-1-1 on the year. The team has a big week with games agains Andover and North Andover.
The boys’ and girls’ cross country teams were defeated in the home opener by Lowell but there were several strong individual performances. Gabby DeRoche won the girls’ race while Keith May placed second in the boys’ race. Next up for the Hillies is meet at Chelmsford on Wednesday afternoon.
Hillie Season Passes are now available for the 2018-2019 school year. Each pass is good for admission to all Haverhill High School home athletic events. There is an admission charge for all athletic events held at Trinity Stadium as well as home volleyball, basketball and wrestling events at the high school. Season passes are $50 for adults, $30 for students and $30 for seniors.
