The girls’ volleyball team continued its outstanding season by extending its win streak to five matches with a 3-0 win over Lowell Monday night. The Hillies improved to 11-1 on the year and officially qualified for the MIAA playoffs. The team will host a huge match on Wednesday night against Lawrence.
The Hillie golfers also clinched a spot in the MIAA playoffs. They edged Billerica 11-9 then avenged an early season loss to Central Catholic with a 14-6 win over the Raiders. The Hillies are 9-3 with three matches remaining.
The boys’ soccer team is still in the playoff hunt. The Hillies are 5-4-1 after a 2-0 loss to undefeated North Andover. They are in action at Lowell on Tuesday night.
The girls’ soccer team got back in the win column with a 2-0 win over Lowell and its record now sits at 4-6. The Hillies host Dracut on Tuesday afternoon.
The cross country teams hosted at tri-meet at Winnekenni Park on Wednesday. The girls’ team split with Billerica and Central Catholic while the boys dropped both meets. The teams will be in action at Dracut on Wednesday.
The crew teams rowed in the prestigious Textile Regatta race at UMass Lowell over the weekend and continued to improve. The boys’ first 8 was the top finisher, placing 14th with a time of 17.03.
The football team came close to knocking off undefeated Methuen but came up just short. The Hillies fell 19-17 at the annual homecoming game. The Hillies will travel to Lawrence this Saturday for a noon kickoff.
